Blessed indeed

Its all quiet on the western front this morning. Children are sleeping in. We had such a nice weekend. Christmas Eve we went to our church service that is held every year.( A special time for me as the 1st service I went to at this church was on Christmas Eve 2000. I was living in a nearby town at the time and attending a different church that I never returned to after going to First Baptist. Not that the old church was bad but it was so warm and loving at First Baptist...I stayed.)
I did a reading as I often do but this year I did something a little different...I read a blog post.
You can check out Robins post if you want. She's a neat lady with a nice blog. ( I got to meet her last summer) After church I had some sneaking around to do. I had bought a Wii with a Wii fit used but in new condition and stashed it at my sister in laws house. I had to go after it and my son Casey went with me. The best part of that was having a nice talk with him. He is almost 14 and going through a rough spot in life so when he is friendly and talkative I count it a blessing. We came home and started a game of Monopoly and then tucked Jasper in. Casey was soooooo cute. He ate the cookies and milk for Santa and then wrote a cute thank you note to Jasper from St. Nick.
Christmas day was great. Casey got a new Ipod and was so shocked he knocked me over when he hugged me. We had my folks, Jim's mom and sister over and indulged ourselves in some gluttony. (this put me into a nice food coma for the afternoon) Spent a lot of time getting to know the Wii. I'll have you know I am a great bowler!
Yesterday topped off a great weekend. Church service was awesome and a couple that I know from college had traveled over to go to church (they drove almost 40 miles) and I had to invite them for leftovers lunch. My best friend from Sheridan and her husband also came over to have lunch with us. What a great time of fellowship and sharing what the Lord has done and is doing. I also got to see my husband box. He moves pretty good for an old man ;o) Of course I don't think he is old but the kiddos do!
I hope your weekend and celebration of the Lords birth were as nice as mine.
